Unsurprisingly, daily ICI Télé, helmed by actress Suzanne Clément, will return for a second season, Radio-Canada confirmed Wednesday.

Marie-André Labbé’s series was watched by an average viewership of 1,563,000* on November 6, “a record for the first season of a daily drama,” notes Dany Méloul, Director General of Television at Radio-Canada in a press release.

Saint-Vincent’s turmoil in the ER draws more onlookers than Cabinet Lapointe-Macdonald’s in Indéfendable, a daily TVA rival, which airs at the same time at 7pm.

After the holiday break, STAT returns to the small screen on Monday, January 9th. The first winter episode marks the arrival of actress Laurence-Anaïs Belleville in the role of a 35-year-old woman suffering from anorexia.

The daily, which became the follow-up to the District 31 phenomenon series, is produced by Guillaume Lespérance (A Média), Fabienne Larouche and Michel Trudeau (Aetios).
