On the occasion of the CES in Las Vegas, which opens its doors this Thursday, Sennheiser presented new wireless headphones. In particular, they use the experience of the company that bought the consumer division of the German brand in 2021: Sonova.
It must be said that the Swiss company Sonova is not entirely alien to audio technology, having specialized in hearing aids. As such, it already offers prostheses for the hearing impaired. It is precisely in this area that Sennheiser presented its latest headphones on Thursday, the Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus.
In fact, behind this extended name is the Clear range already used by the German brand for their hearing aid for television, the Sennheiser TV Cleat Set. Still, as the name suggests, the Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus are primarily designed for enjoying conversations, especially in noisy environments.
They use a microphone system to analyze ambient noise and the voices of the people around you to filter out the noise pollution and transcribe only the voices into the headphones. This function is in fact the one we know well during the voice call noise reduction already built into wireless headphones.
Three noise reduction modes
In addition, the headphones also benefit from simpler active noise cancellation that reduces all ambient noise, as well as a transparent mode called “Ambient Awareness”. Sennheiser will also allow users to choose the type of environment they are in, with a “Relax” mode, a “Communication” mode and a “Streaming” mode of one more or less, depending on their needs to benefit from strong isolation.” .
These parameters can be adjusted within a dedicated application called Conversation Clear Plus, rather than the Sennheiser Smart Control application traditionally used by the German brand.

Since the Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus are of course wireless headphones, they can be connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth. The autonomy announced by the company is 27 hours with the charging box. However, we do not know what the autonomy of the headphones alone is, or whether this measured duration is with or without noise cancellation.
The Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus can already be pre-ordered and will be available in stores from January 20th. However, to equip yourself with them you will have to pay a high price since the headphones are announced at a price of 849 euros.
