Flavio Insina re-enters the field to take sides against the war. The occasion is one of the references to the guillotine during Legacy, the program he hosted in the episode aired on Wednesday 4 January on Rai 1. Here Insinna said: “We are for peace. Stop the war”. Words that evoked a long round of applause from the audience. The winning word “STOP” brought up the conflict in Ukraine.
One of the five clues was instead “BEATLES”, so Flavio remembered the verse “Stop with the Beatles stop” from the famous song by Gianni Morandi “There was a boy who like me”. It still is: “We are not just pacifists, we are really against the war, and that’s something else. We really don’t like war, we like peace! We’ll never stop the Beatles, but let’s hope the war ends once and for all.”
The conductor had already spoken out against arms deliveries from Italy. During the Draghi government, Insinna had said clearly: “The word is austerity, tonight. In this case I am right. You have to save on weapons.” Again he had made it public.
