‘I am nervous!’ Robbie Williams admits he fears being CANCELED over his upcoming Better Man biopic and Netflix docuseries
The film about his life began production in May 2022, and two months later Netflix announced it had commissioned a series chronicling the ups and downs of his career.
And now Robbie Williams, 48, has admitted he fears being canceled over his upcoming Better Man biopic and Netflix docuseries.
The Let Me Entertain You crooner admitted he was nervous about “being in the crosshairs again” and claimed it was a “very vulnerable time” to be in the spotlight.

Speaking on the Robbie Williams Rewind podcast, the singer said of the forthcoming releases: “I’m both excited and nervous. I’m not nervous that it’s not good because what I saw blew me away.
“What makes me nervous is being in the crosshairs again because the movie is coming out and the Netflix thing is coming out.
And I haven’t really been economically viable for the lower energies associated with media for a long time, which has made my life comfortable and made all of this possible.

“I need these few things to keep the wind behind my sails for the third part of my life, they are vital. But then if they’re a hit for how long, I’ll be in the crosshairs again and it’s a very vulnerable time to be in the media right now.
“You can be canceled for anything, and I’m not talking about sex, I’m just talking about anything you say, on which specific day you wake up on the wrong side of history, where you’re a relic from the last century.” till we thought and felt different things.’
Robbie claimed: “You’re 15 seconds away from being canceled at any moment and that doesn’t feel comfortable.”

The Angels hitmaker admitted his “silliness and stupidity” would probably make him more open to criticism.
He said: “Especially for someone like me who just shoots from the hip with silliness, not from the hip with opinions about how the world should be. Just jokes and laughter and stupidity, so there’s two perspectives.
“I’m really looking forward to it coming out and being a success, because success feels great, but at the same time, being in that crosshair makes me feel vulnerable.”

Production on the big-budget biopic – billed as a “musical fantasy” – began in May 2022 and is being shot in Melbourne by Australian filmmaker Michael Gracey, who directed the blockbuster The Greatest Showman.
British actor Jonno Davies, 30, of Hunters fame, will play Robbie as a younger man.
Other cast members include Australian actors Kate Mulvany (The Great Gatsby), Damon Herriman (Mr InBetween) and filmmaker and actor Anthony Hayes.
In an official statement, the production said the film is “a satirical musical based on the life of a pop star.”
The film will feature ‘reinterpretations’ of Robbie’s hits and stunning visual effects to explore the ‘inner demons’ the superstar has had to battle both on and off stage.
