Pete Holmes and Katie Lowes on CBS’ “How We Roll” CBS
As Deadline reported on Saturday, Hollander, the developer, director, executive producer and showrunner of upcoming Showtime series American Gigolo, produced by siblings Paramount Television Studios, has been fired following an investigation into allegations of misconduct from the popular 1980 reboot . Both Showtime and Paramount TV Studios underscored the seriousness of the claims and parted ways with the veteran showrunner.
“David Hollander is no longer on the drama series American Gigolo and Paramount Television Studios no longer has a producing relationship with him,” a spokesperson told Deadline on Saturday.
CBS and CBS Studios are part of the same company, Paramount, as are Showtime and Paramount TV Studios, which immediately raised questions about Hollander’s future on How We Roll. While there have also been rumors of his behavior among the cast and crew of the CBS comedy, there have been no recorded HR complaints against Hollander, who was not involved with the sitcom as a non-writing EP.
How We Roll, currently in renewal, follows the life story of Tom Smallwood (Holmes), a stoic Midwestern husband and father who is fired from an auto assembly line and makes the extraordinary decision to provide for his family his dream of becoming a professional bowler.
Katie Lowes, Chi McBride, Julie White and Mason Wells also star. Mark Gross and Brian d’Arcy James are executive producers, and Mark Cendrowski directed the pilot.
