First-class Delta passenger is arrested by FBI ‘after branding flight attendant ‘f*g’ for refusing to serve him alcohol and hitting victim with phone’ – before speaking during interview with Police admit he’s homophobic.

A first-class passenger has been arrested over allegations that he branded a flight attendant “F*G” for refusing to serve him more alcohol.
Christopher Alexander Morgan is said to have killed the unidentified Delta worker on March 22.
The drama is said to have started after Morgan reclined his chair before takeoff and then refused to raise it again at the request of the cabin crew.
He is said to have become even more angry when he was denied a second alcoholic drink after takeoff, and then hurled homophobic slurs before allegedly grabbing a cabin phone to use as a weapon.
The incident made the plane’s crew so concerned about Morgan’s erratic behavior that they guarded the cockpit for the duration of the flight.
And after being arrested by the FBI on landing at Sky Harbor Airport, Morgan readily admitted to being homophobic, the Daily Beast reported.
Morgan now faces up to 20 years in prison on criminal charges of disturbing flight crew members or flight attendants.

The affidavit from The Daily Beast notes how the argument began before the plane even took off, when Morgan, who was sitting in the front row in seat 1D, “leaned his seat all the way back and refused to put on his seat belt.” Start before he becomes ‘uncooperative’ [with the fight crew] and would not follow their instructions.’
Once on the air, Morgan ordered an alcoholic drink but was told he could only have soft drinks, further angering him.
“Morgan called a flight attendant identified as HD the F-word and a ‘gay guy’ and threw a glass of ice at HD,” the affidavit reads.
“When passenger RO, who was seated in 2G, said something to Morgan to de-escalate Morgan’s aggression, Morgan got angry at passenger RO and put the glass he was holding up to RO’s face.”
Flight attendant HD then went to the galley to call the captain on the intercom and explain what was going on.

According to HD, Morgan then got out of his seat, grabbed HD’s phone and hit HD in the chest with the phone. Passenger RO reported that he heard Morgan call HD a ‘f*g’ and saw Morgan take HD’s airplane phone and throw it at him.’
The flight attendants were so disturbed by what they saw that one guarded the flight deck door for the remainder of the flight due to safety concerns for the flight crew, after HD reported that he did not know what Morgan might do next.’
Morgan was quickly arrested upon arrival in Phoenix, after which he attempted to justify his actions by saying that “the flight attendant was homosexual … and made him uncomfortable,” according to the affidavit.
“Morgan said he was homophobic and it was possible he intimidated the flight attendants. He said his homophobia may have caused his temper toward the flight attendant to escalate, and he admitted calling HD a gay man,” the affidavit concludes.
Morgan has denied all allegations of the attack and said he never touched the plane’s intercom phone.
