50 Cent announces that he is dating Dr. Dre reunited for his new album HipHopDX

50 Cent has offered additional details about the new album he plans to release later this year, revealing that Dr. Dre will contribute to the project.

During a recent interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the rapper was asked about a recent Instagram post announcing “new music, new TV” and a “new movie.” Fif said as soon as he shared the news with fans, his Shady/Aftermath family reached out to let him know they were ready to work.

“As soon as I said that, I got a text message from [Eminem] that he’s already spoken to Dre and that Dre’s in there and he’s got some crazy stuff for me to listen to,” he said. “That’s my process: I’m going to make whatever I can find, the best music I can get my hands on. And when I’m feeling really good about it, I make it pressure Dre to offer me something. Because he’s going to have something… He’s always had something.”

The G-Unit boss went on to explain that there have even been cases in the past where Dr. Dre gave up custom beats for 50 cents to use them.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Queens rapper revealed that he’s started work on an 8-mile TV series to further develop Eminem’s already bulletproof “legacy.”

While he didn’t offer many details about when fans could expect the project or where in B-Rabbit’s life the story would pick up, 50 said the project was already more than a distant goal.

“We’re moving,” he said. “This is going to be big. I am working. I have no duds. I’m hitting 100… I think it should be there [Eminem’s] Legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”

The news comes a few months after the 8 Mile Soundtrack celebrated its 20th anniversary with a re-release of the “Expanded Edition,” which arrived when the original album was certified 6x platinum. The new edition includes all 12 original songs, along with instrumentals for each of the tracks.

All of the original cast may not be ready for an 8 Mile makeover. Mekhi Phifer, who starred in the 2002 film as Rabbit’s friend Future (a tribute to Em’s real-life childhood friend Proof), recently told TMZ Hip Hop that there will “never” be a sequel to the beloved rap film.

“Sometimes it’s just best to leave it alone. Once you’ve made it a classic, there’s no reason to mess with it,” he said. He added that a sequel might be interesting, but he would never consider reprising his beloved role.

Alongside the return of BMF, which kicked off its second season on Friday (January 6), 50 Cent’s G-Unit Television & Films will continue to expand its catalog in 2023. Despite announcing the end of his longtime partnership with STARZ in September last year, the mogul recently announced plans for a new series on the network.

According to a report by Deadline, 50 is executive producing a new scripted drama series, titled Fightland, which tells the story of a retired world champion fighter who finds himself on the dark side of the sport after his childhood friend and training partner disappears.

To find his best friend, the disgraced fighter must return to the sport that nearly ruined his life and cost him everything to escape. The series comes from the minds of writing duo Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith, both of whom grew up in south London.

In addition, 50 Cent will be working with Expanded Media’s Francis Hopkinson and Katharine Leadbetter to produce the show. The show will be overseen on behalf of STARZ by Vice President, Original Programming, Sebastian Arboleda, and Director, Original Programming, Alex Alberts.
