LONDON – Four people were found stabbed to death in a house in south London on Monday, British police said. A man was arrested.
The Metropolitan Police Force said officers were called by neighbors at around 1:40am to reports of a disturbance and gained entry to a home in the Bermondsey area. Inside, they found three women — in their 30s, 40s and 60s — and a man in his 60s “who are believed to have sustained stab wounds.”
All four were pronounced dead at the scene.
A fifth man in his late 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Police said the victims and suspect all knew each other and they were not looking for other suspects.
Police said they are still contacting the victims’ families and have not revealed their identities.
“Such horrific events are rare but I know this will do no less than the shock that will be felt across London and across the country,” Police Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove told Facts.
