International travelers will again have to prove they have been vaccinated against Covid before boarding the Southeast Asian country, while quarantine will no longer be mandatory on arrival in China.

Thailand will require international travelers to show they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before flying into the country, Thailand’s aviation authority has announced while anticipating tourist arrivals after reopening its border this Sunday prepared from China.

Thailand’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAAT) said in a statement on Saturday that from Monday all foreign travelers will be required to show proof of being vaccinated or having contracted and cured Covid within the past six months.

Unvaccinated arrivals must provide a medical certificate explaining why they were not given the vaccine.

A measure that will be in effect at least until the end of January

CAAT added that checking documents before boarding is the responsibility of airlines and that the new measure will remain in effect until at least the end of January.

Thailand lifted the vaccination record requirement in October. The reintroduced measure does not apply to Thai passport holders or passengers traveling only through the country.
