Update for the latest…: That was fast. James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water, out its fourth weekend of release, has grossed over $1.7 billion worldwide and is the seventh-biggest film of all time worldwide.

passing $1.19 billion At the international box office, the sci-fi epic has become the highest-grossing foreign release of the pandemic era and the No. 5 title of all time behind Avatar, Avengers: Endgame, Titanic and Avengers: Infinity War.

The international meeting delivered $132.6M in 52 markets for an estimated running total of $1,191.3 million overseas. The weekend route was down 30% from the last frame, but a significant number of markets recorded gains, including Brazil (+83%), Spain (+53%) and Germany (+4%).

After four weeks, WoW remains the #1 non-local film in all markets (except Kuwait where M3GAN dethroned the Na’vi this session) and has become the biggest studio film of all time in India.

The top 5 markets so far are China ($188.3M), France ($107.2 million), Germany ($92.6M), Korea ($85.6M) and the United Kingdom ($69.1 million).

After 24 days, the IMAX total has reached $189.5 million, making it the format’s fourth-biggest release of all time. Internationally, it’s the third-best result of all time at $122 million.

Meanwhile, Universal/DreamWorks Animations Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is approaching $200 million worldwide after surpassing $100 million at the international box office this weekend. The session was worth it $25.9M in 77 offshore markets with a foreign turnover of so far $109.7M. Globally, it’s just a hair away from $200 million $197.4M until Sunday.
