Prince Harry was "Ashamed" of his IKEA furniture after visiting the Cambridges’ museum-class apartment 1A

Prince Harry’s book is out tomorrow, January 10th, but of course the whole thing has already been leaked. And according to the Chron, Harry opens up about that one awkward time when he and Meghan Markle visited Prince William and Kate Middleton at their Kensington Palace apartment – which is more like a massive mansion.

“The wallpaper, the ceiling paneling, the walnut bookshelves filled with volumes in peaceful colours, priceless works of art,” Harry recalls. “Great. Like a museum.” Adding that he and Meghan felt a bit embarrassed about their IKEA furniture, he said: “We congratulated them on the renovation without holding back the compliments, while appreciating our IKEA lamps and the used sofa we recently bought embarrassed selling with Meg’s credit card on sofa.com.”

Don’t worry we have interior photos of Kate and Will’s fabulous home photographed during a visit to the Obamas.

In the meantime, here’s Harry’s home in Notts Cott – which is in the grounds of Kensington Palace and has previously also been home to Prince William and Kate Middleton:

Back in 2020, royal author Christopher Warwick said that Kate and William’s home “has 20 rooms from basement to attic” and “it’s no small house.”

“All of these royal residences at Kensington Palace are called apartments, which of course immediately makes people think they’re apartments, like the American term for a dwelling,” he explained. “They’re not. In a way, if you think of Kensington Place, it’s built around three courtyards. When you picture these wonderful red brick townhouses. Because they are all connected but separate houses.”

Will and Kate’s “apartment” is four stories, has five “reception rooms”, nine “staff bedrooms”, an elevator, a gym, luggage rooms and several drawing rooms. These days, however, they spend most of their time at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, a four-bedroom house.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan live in a Montecito mansion worth around $30 million. According to The Sun, the Sussexes’ home was bought for $14.6million in June 2020 and has appreciated by £12million (or $14.9million) since then. Not sure where their sofas are from but seems pretty nice!
