Gareth Bale retires from professional football. The Welsh footballer surprisingly announced his final departure from the pitches at the age of 33 after winning absolutely everything during his time at Real Madrid. Also known as the ‘Cardiff Express’, the athlete made this radical career decision after attending the Qatar 2022 World Cup. He also left European football months ago and was signed by Los Angeles FC of the United States MLS.
“After careful consideration, I announce my immediate retirement from club and international football,” was the beginning of the letter published by the former Real Madrid on his social networks.
“I’m going to the next phase of my life. A time of change and transition. An opportunity for a new adventure,” continued Gareth Bale, who won five Champions League titles with the Madrid side.

Gareth Bale said he’s happy with the happy episodes he’s had in football and considers that now that he’s retiring, he won’t have experiences of such magnitude in his life.
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have fulfilled my dream of playing the sport I love. It gave me the best moments of my life that are impossible to repeat,” admitted the Welshman.
