The former far-right head of state left Brazil two days before the end of his mandate to avoid the inauguration of his left-wing successor, Lula, to invade the home of former martial artist José Aldo in Orlando.
Bolsonaro was admitted to the AdventHealth Celebration hospital with “severe abdominal pain” the day after a violent attack by his supporters on the presidential palace, Congress and the Supreme Court in Brasilia, for which he denied any responsibility.
Jair Bolsonaro, 67, is suffering serious consequences from the stabbing that almost took his life in September 2018, just before he was elected president.
