The cardinals clean up

An era has come to an end for the Arizona Cardinals. After the last game of a very difficult season, general manager Steve Keim resigned while head coach Kliff Kingsbury was fired.

Kingsbury was in his fourth season with the club, having been on the rise in the first three years. It all culminated in a first playoff appearance in six years in 2021.

After this satisfactory season, he too had signed a contract extension that should bind him to the team until 2027. But the team’s poor performance in 2022 – just four wins – ultimately cost him his job.

After four seasons — his only four as an NFL pilot — Kingsbury compiled a 28-37-1 record.

Keim, on the other hand, had already taken an indefinite leave of absence for medical reasons in December. This time he decided to leave the organization for the same reasons. This decision comes 10 years plus one day after he was hired as CEO.
