Stunning moment Monster shark gets within two meters of a bikini-clad beachgoer wading in shallow waters at a popular beach

  • Exceptional video of tiger sharks cruising alongside frightened beachgoers in WA
  • It was filmed twice, in very shallow water, then straight towards a woman
  • Mullaloo Beach near Perth has been closed due to tiger shark sightings
  • A shark lover claimed locals called the shark “Trevor.”

Alarming footage has surfaced of a large tiger shark gliding meters away from swimmers on a popular Australian beach.

Two videos filmed on Monday appear to show the same predator in the shallows between Whitfords Beach and Pinaroo Point, north of Perth, in Western Australia.

In a clip filmed from shore, the great shark cruises through waist-deep water with its fin out.

Frightened beachgoers can be heard in the video screaming when the shark gets so close to humans.

“It’s a dolphin,” says a surprised girl. “That’s a tiger shark,” corrects someone else.

But with temperatures in the mid-30s mid-afternoon, swimmers returned to the water and the shark was back – this time spotted by drone camera.

First, the animal glides directly towards an unsuspecting bikini woman, then swims around her at the last possible moment.

It then moves between her and a nearby father, who unsuspectingly waves his young son over before turning and heading back into deeper water.

Toby, a self-confessed local shark lover, said in a social media post he was looking for the shark, which he dubbed “Trevor.”

He claimed the woman in the clip saw the shark “did the right thing by calmly getting out,” but the father didn’t.

“Yes, the man at the top of the video signals his child to get in the water with him (he didn’t see the shark).”

Toby claimed his video, along with other videos made by ‘Trev’ in recent months, was ‘proof that sharks have no interest in humans’.

“But other than that, accidents do happen so please be SharkSmart and follow Australia shark movement apps,” he added.

The same shark is believed to have forced the closure of Mullaloo on December 15.

Dozens of sharks have been sighted along the Perth coast in the last month.
