It’s not often that a 6-foot-11 millionaire celebrates winning a compact sedan on national television, but that was the case on Monday’s episode of The Price Is Right, when former New York Knicks forward Jared Jeffries realized one of his lifelong dreams.

Jeffries, 41, was a contestant in the episode that aired Monday and took part in the “One Away” game, in which guests are asked to correct a car’s price by changing a digit.

The lanky Indiana native seemed nervous when host Drew Carry pressed him for the answer, but still managed to get the price of the car ($22,376) accurate by changing the penultimate digit.

“What a good win!” said Carey as Jeffries started pacing around in circles inspecting his new ride. “What a good win to start the show! Keep it up!’

“Yes,” exclaimed Jeffries as he received a standing ovation from the audience at Television City in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, Jeffries stuck with the Showcase Showdown, where contestants spin a wheel to get as close to $1 as possible without going over, but he seemed happy with his new car.

Jeffries’ former Indiana University teammate Jarrad Odle commented on the clip on Twitter: “Dude still makes me laugh.”

Jeffries replied, “Man that was so funny!!!! Life dream. Miss you buddy.’

Of course, fans were curious as to why someone who’s banked over $40 million over 11 NBA seasons would be so excited to win a moderately priced sedan that, under the best of circumstances, he’d struggle to fit into.

“At 6’4 I can’t fit comfortably in a Corolla,” wrote one Twitter user. “He’ll find out.”

“Imagine being so excited about a car you don’t even fit in?” asked another.

Several fans pointed out that Jeffries had to leave the struggling Knicks to find success.

“Another example of a former Knick winning after leaving,” one fan wrote.

An 11th pick of the 2002 NBA draft, Jeffries was a solid defensive forward who previously helped Indiana reach the 2002 NCAA title game, where the Hoosiers fell to Maryland.

He also created his own television series, Modern Fishing with Jared Jeffries, which aired on the Outdoor Channel in 2013.
