In the case of the Parisians, they positioned themselves as the best team in Ligue 1 and managed to hire figures like Neymar and Lionel Messi. Not satisfied with that, the latest information shows that the institution’s owners would be looking to acquire a Premier League team.
According to what journalist Ben Jacobs revealed, Sports investment in Qatar (the organization that owns PSG) has already arranged a meeting with an institution facing the current Champions League.

“Qatar Sports Investments is stepping up efforts to find another team to invest in as a minority this year. They are actively in talks with Premier League clubs, including Tottenham. Nasser Al-Khelaifi held an exploratory meeting with Spurs President Daniel Levy earlier this week,” he said in an article for CBS.
The communicator noted that the Qatari company has been evaluating various options in Europe and aims to make a number of investments this year; however, it’s not out of the question that they might also target the South American leagues.
“QSI already owns 23% of Braga and wants at least one more minority stake in Europe. And South America is also a focus region,” they added.
Jacobs notes that the intention is to compete with the model of the city football group, Manchester City owners who have bought clubs such as Lommel (Belgium), Montevideo City Torque (Uruguay), New York City (USA), Mumbai City (India) and Bolívar (Bolivia) in recent years.
