Shakira was shocked to learn that Gérard Piqué’s new girlfriend, Clara Marti, can be seen in video of an interview recorded at the former couple’s home in August 2021, before their split. The conversation took place via Zoom. The singer was traveling with her children at the time.
“Shakira is devastated to learn that this woman has clearly made herself at home in the residence where she and Piqué lived with their children,” a source told Page Six.
“They were very close back then. It’s devastating for her to know that this affair has been going on for much longer than she realized,” he added.
The lover’s bankruptcy at the time may have been one of the reasons that caused Shakira to erupt on social networks at the turn of the year. “Even though our wounds are still open in this new year, time has the hands of a surgeon. Even if someone betrays us, we must continue to trust others,” she wrote.
Pique and Shakira announced their split in June 2022, after 12 years together. They lived under one roof in Barcelona, Spain for eight years.
