Death of Diana, relations with her father….Prince Harry’s revelations in his book, "The deputy"

BFMTV was able to read an exclusive copy of Prince Harry’s book, and ahead of its release on Tuesday, it reveals several excerpts from a book already rocking Britain’s monarchy.

This is the long-awaited book that will make the British monarchy tremble. Out this Tuesday is The Substitute (Fayard Editions), in which Prince Harry reveals his truth four months before the coronation of King Charles III. Two days before the official release, BFMTV was able to read a copy of the book and here reveals several unpublished excerpts.

Several other excerpts from substitute have already reached the international press. In his book, Prince Harry notably recounts a heated argument with his brother William in London in 2019, or how his brother and wife Kate, aged 20, encouraged him to dress up as a Nazi during a costume party.

• On Diana’s death

25 years after his mother’s death, Prince Harry’s wound is still alive. In his book, he tells with emotion the day on which he had access to Diana’s accident file. “I never dared to believe that they feasted on his helpless body like rabid dogs. This country was a camera flash,” Harry wrote.

The prince reveals that one evening he even remade the path in the Alma tunnel in Paris several times. United at that time, the two brothers wanted to resume the investigation.

“Willy and I agreed. (…) We wanted to publish a statement in which we jointly called for the investigation to be resumed. (…) The high authorities advised us against it,” he says.

• His relationships with William and Charles

On the fringes of the system, Harry sees his every action being scrutinized by the British press… and his father will never deny the tabloids’ allegations. A conscious decision by Charles? That means Harry.

“The Counselor (by Charles, editor’s note) saw an unexpected opportunity (…) for Dad: from now on he would no longer be the unfaithful husband in the eyes of the world, but the helpless poor single father of his to the core drugged offspring.

Harry also sets his sights on Charles, who is said to have foiled his charitable plans. “I was wondering what was going on. And then I understood: sibling rivalry. I was horrified. So was it still there? Heir or proxy?”

An explosive book

Despite a explosive book that reveals the dark side of the royal family and at times goes into great detail about his conversations with his brother William, Harry has been saying for the past few weeks that he wants to reconnect with his family.

Also this Sunday he declared that he had “no harmful intention” to “hurt” his father or brother.

“Nothing I have done in this book or otherwise has ever been done with the intention of harming or hurting them,” he said in an interview with British broadcaster ITV, the words reported by Sky news.
