A manifesto song about exploited young people, to reiterate that young people are not slackers. It’s the Skiantos, a historical insane rock group, taking to the field alongside young people, underpaid work and the precariousness that oppresses them. The purpose of the song and video is to debunk a recurring rhetorical narrative to the detriment of young people with an admirable rock swing. “I Giovani” is a work born from the intuition of Paul Perissinotto, which has been collecting stories from young victims of exploitation and workplace harassment over the past few months. The piece represents an intense reflection, collected by part of politics, on the unthinkable conditions that young people experience during the interviews, the fear of a future without certainties, but above all without understanding. We need dignity, support for the most vulnerable, minimum wages, income support, tackling precariousness and building a safety net to ensure the stability of the social fabric.
