‘I’m not in a sexual headspace – neither is he’: New mom Chloe Madeley admits she and husband James Haskell have ‘find it difficult to be intimate’ since birth.

They’ve been in a relationship for eight years and married for over four – and have previously spoken at length about their active sex life.

But Chloe Madeley, 35, has admitted she hasn’t been in a sexual headspace since welcoming daughter Bodhi in August, and neither has her husband James Haskell, 37.

She said: “It’s been quite difficult to get back into the swing of a good, healthy sex life and I can’t figure out if it’s me, it’s him or if it’s both of us. I’ll say it’s the latter – it’s both of us.

“I just feel like I’m not really in a very sexual headspace right now. I hope it comes back. I don’t really think he is either. Hopefully things will go back to normal.’

Chloe, the daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, has in the past spoken at length about her sex life with 6ft 3 former flanker James.

Ex-England rugby star James, who admits to having slept with 1,000 women in the past, has previously said he “approaches sex like a competitive sport”.

He previously told The Sun: “In the end, I take everything very seriously. But I mean, you want to be good at sex, right? I’m not sure if I’m very good at it, but I’m trying to get better. There are a lot of people out there who have a lot of bad sex. I want to improve it.”

Chloe also admitted lockdown was having a detrimental effect on her once wild sex life due to work stress and laziness.

She told The Sun at the time: “Our sex life has taken a nosedive and absolutely dried up in lockdown and we’ve had to work to get back on track – no pun intended.

“It surprised me because James and I have always been very sexually compatible and I always assumed those breaks would never happen to us.”

She noted that James developed a taste for afternoon sex after becoming too tired in the evenings, which didn’t sit well with her at all.

Chloe’s words come as she admitted she was expecting to divorce James after he booked a DJ gig on her due date and then left her for eight straight nights this week.

Personal trainer and TV presenter Chloe said she was in bed on her due date hating her husband – but five months later he has happily redeemed himself since giving birth.

When asked what unexpected thing about motherhood surprised her, she said: “How incredibly committed James was to it. He’s just the best with her. I watch him with her and I’m so relieved.

“Because I don’t want to lie, James booked a DJ gig with Carl Cox in my third trimester. And I understand it’s Carl Cox, but he booked a DJ gig with Carl Cox on my due date – “but it’s my due date!”

“At that point – I can’t lie to you – I was lying in bed on my due date while James djed at The Ned with Carl Cox and I was like, ‘Well, I just picked the wrong person to have a baby with and this will hell we will be divorced within the year i absolutely hate him deh, deh, deh, deh, deh.

“I was so mad at him for quoting that less than four per cent of babies in the UK are born on their due date, so he kept quoting it as back and posting thing after thing after that.

“There was a time when I think he didn’t come home for eight nights that week – that due week.

“I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is it, I’m going to jail.’ I can not handle this.’
