The plot
“La Porta Rossa” is an Italian television series produced by Rai Fiction. On February 22, 2017, the first season aired on Rai 2. The second season, on the other hand, will only take place on February 13, 2019. As already mentioned, the series takes place in Trieste. Inspector Leonardo Cagliostro, impulsive, often using abrupt and very unorthodox methods, not at all inclined to follow the procedures and orders dictated by his superiors, has to deal with the most complicated case of his career: the investigation into his own murder.
In fact, the man was killed during a solo police operation, but instead of going through the red door that separates life from death and leads to the afterlife, he chooses to stay in the physical world and thus become a ghost, to find out who he is is her killer: this is the only way he can actually save the life of his wife, the judge Anna Meyer. The latter is in fact the subject of some future visions held by Leonardo after his death, in which she would be killed in her house by her own assassin during the Christmas season. The only ones who can help him are a seventeen year old girl, Vanessa Rosic, who accidentally discovers that she is a medium and is also the only person who can see and hear him, and Jonas Sala, another ghost who is in his same situation , which helps Leonardo break free from his new ghost state.
It soon turns out that Leonardo’s killer is most likely a colleague of his from police headquarters, who would therefore lead a double life linked to trafficking in a new powerful and deadly chemical drug that has been invading Trieste for some time, the red spirit. who Leonardo was investigating before he was killed and would therefore have set a deadly trap for the inspector. But all of Leonardo’s colleagues seem to have something to hide and are therefore all possible suspects. Also the magistrate Antonio Piras, Anna’s colleague, who was always in love with her and who always had a badly hidden hatred for Leonardo (moreover, mutually), and Anna’s father Elvio, who never supported his daughter’s decision to marry the commissioner , they seem to have skeletons in the closet.
