the Tarma Sports Association It is one of the traditional teams of Peruvian football. Its presence in the league 1 After more than three decades, it was good news for those who yearn to see clubs with more history in the Peruvian first division. Similarly, it’s interesting to highlight an important detail for the Celestial Gale shield: why does it have two stars?
Tarma Sports Associationbetter known as ADT or ADT de Tarma, was incorporated on June 18, 1929. Of course, he comes from the Andean town in the department of Junín and thanks to his seasons in professional football he became one of the most popular teams in the region. However, his two main achievements – represented by the stars – were far from it.
ADT and its glorious 1979 Copa Peru title
The year 1979, half a century after it was founded, marks the first major milestone in the history of the company Tarma ADT. In the 1970s, the Celestes reached three finals of the Peru Cup Between 1977 and 1979 in a row, and in this last edition, they finally achieved the long-awaited rise to professional football. This campaign was his greatest achievement for many decades.
ADT He had other historic rivals like UTC de Cajamarca, Deportivo Garcilaso and Defensor Lima in that 1979 final. Deportivo Centenario and Comercial Aguas Verdes de Zarumilla completed the hex. The ‘Vendaval’ have not lost in five games, but they secured the title with a 0-0 draw against Tumbesinos on the last day of the game.

ADT and the second star
By 2021, the sign will be from ADT It sported just one star as a symbol of the historic 1979 title. However, that was to change with the Exceptional Peru Cup that year, giving a shorter path for the team’s return to the first division after many years. They were the only representatives of Junín in the tournament and established themselves as the best team in Phase 4.
First in this 8-team league, ADT could wait for the best among Credicoop San Cristóbal, Maristas, Los Caimanes and Alfonso Ugarte to have a rival in the finals. After two keys, it was the also historic ‘streak’ of Puno who met the Tarmeños at the San Marcos stadium on Monday 29 November. There had not been a historic duel in a Copa Peru final since UTC – Ugarte in 2012.

ADTdirected by Juan Carlos BasalarHe had only lost one game in Stage 4, curiously 2-1 against Erick Torres’ team. It was a final, however, and the balanced and varied flow resulted in a 0-0 draw that was decided on penalties. The game was also close and a single error from Saúl Reyes was enough for the sky-blue captain Gu Rum Choi to give the club their second star.
