No fewer than five different players hit the back of the net in the last five minutes of this game. Two unanswered goals from Daniel Agostino and Pier-Olivier Roy allowed the Red Devils to find their way to victory and begin this short journey in the Maritimes.
The winning goal scored in the power play temporarily gave the guests a two-goal lead. The Remparts weren’t at the end of their troubles, however, as Alex Mercier cut just 15 seconds into that success. In the game, Miles Mueller served the Sainte-Foy native with a superb pass to the edge of the net.
The Wildcats took a chance late in the game but Quentin Miller held on, then James Malatesta rattled the ropes into an empty net with just a second to go.
Nicolas Savoie broke the ice on the power play midway through the first period. He was the first to defeat Jacob Steinman, who performed well with 36 saves on the backhand.
The Remparts will continue their journey on Thursday with a stop at the Halifax Mooseheads before visiting the Cape Breton Eagles on Saturday.
