The new year does not start well for the White House. Two days after an initial disclosure, Joe Biden’s aides discovered another stack of classified documents at a presidential residence a statement by a White House CounselThursday, January 12, confirmed information from American media, including NBC News and the New York Times.
After a first such find in November in a former office of Joe Biden, the president’s attorneys conducted a thorough search of his residences in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. No documents were found at the Rehoboth Beach residence. CBS announced Tuesday that Attorney General Merrick Garland had appointed a judge to review the first documents discovered at the Penn Biden Center. With this new twist, the case is likely to continue to generate buzz and could serve as an argument for the Republican camp while the judiciary is also examining the numerous documents former President Donald Trump is keeping at his Florida residence after he left the White House in 2021.
So far, the billionaire’s case is considered more serious after the federal police (FBI) seized thousands of documents in a spectacular search, including hundreds of classified documents that the Republican refused to return. But the latest discoveries remain embarrassing for the Democratic president, who, unlike his predecessor, has long emphasized his ethical standards.
