Few Montreal Canadiens players have been as popular as PK Subban over the past two decades.

The attacking defender charmed Quebecers with his explosiveness and exuberance during his time in the city from 2010 to 2016. his ease in front of the cameras.

In 2015, Subban made one of the most significant gestures of his time in Montreal by teaming up with the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. After becoming a spokesperson, he pledged to donate $10 million over seven years. According to the facility, this is the largest philanthropic commitment by a professional athlete in Canadian history. Though he continued his career in Tennessee, the popular defender still has ties to the hospital thanks to the PK-Subban Atrium named in his honor.

The former King-Clancy Trophy recipient also established his children’s foundation in 2014.

For two and a half years, Subban and skier Lindsey Vonn have been one of the most influential couples in the sporting world. The two athletes announced they were dating in June 2018 and got engaged on August 23, 2019. On Christmas Day of the same year, it was also Vonn who gave the Ontarian a ring. “Women aren’t the only ones who should get engagement rings,” the newly retired skier said on Instagram.

The couple split on December 29, 2020, but Subban and Vonn have remained friends. A few months earlier, they announced their financial support for Angel City FC, a Los Angeles football club that made its NWSL debut in 2022.

Charismatic by nature, Subban has been a popular guest on several talk shows, including The Daily Show in January 2018, to discuss his philanthropic exploits. Even before he hung up his skates, he made his television debut as an analyst during the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Last November, ESPN reported that the 33-year-old had agreed to a three-way deal as an analyst for years. He will also have his own television show on ESPN+, PK’s Places, which will air in May 2024.

Many will also remember his appearance at a Just For Laughs gala on the Place des Arts in August 2016. For this charity event, Subban spoke about his commitment to children, but also threw a few darts at Canadian and general manager Marc Bergevin. A month earlier, the Norris Trophy holder was traded to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber.

Subban has never hidden his love of beautiful things. The sometimes eccentric former defender has long been recognized as one of the best-dressed athletes, as evidenced by his selection by Sports Illustrated of the top 50 in that category in 2018.
