Shannon Beador could hardly hold back tears as she opened up about her sudden split from John Janssen.
“I don’t want to start crying but yesterday was a really tough day for me and I couldn’t stop crying,” the Real Housewives of Orange County star said on Jeff Lewis Live Thursday, choking on her thoughts about their recent split announcement.
“And so I want to thank you, one of my closest, dearest friends, for coming out and forcing me to go out last night,” she continued, addressing host Jeff Lewis directly.
“Because I really had a good time … And I don’t know how I would have handled things just sitting at home.”
The Bravolebrity, 58, told People on Wednesday that Janssen fired her at the end of November, just a week after finishing production on RHOC season 17.

“We were in a great place,” she said. “But seven days later, when the cameras were off, it was a very different story. He told me he was done with the relationship. And hearing what he said to me at the time was absolutely devastating.”
Beador told Lewis, 52, that she was “caught by Janssen,” who gave her hope their relationship would last – and even be taken to “the next level” – as cameras rolled in the final days of filming.
“My relationship is obviously always a subject of what’s going on,” she said. “So we filmed a dinner at the end of the season so to wrap it up let’s just put a button on where.” [we stood] in your relationship.”

Beador explained: “It was great. John and I filmed together and it was great. I had tears in my eyes at the words he said and I was like, ‘God, we’re going to make it.'”
But just a week later, after nearly four years of dating Beador, Janssen called it quits.
“I just thought whatever the next step is, we’re going to take it. I remember bursting into tears and I remember saying very nice things to him,” she recalled, her voice shaking with emotion. “I hate that.”

While Lewis expressed hope that Beador and Janssen could rekindle their relationship, the Real for Real CEO shut down the idea.
“It’s over, Jeff,” she claimed. “I will say that I last spoke to John in early December. So I’ve never gone that long without speaking to him. It’s big business.”
The mother-of-three, who shares daughter Sophie, 20, and twins Stella and Adeline, 18, with ex-husband David Beador, said she wanted to “stay busy” to take her mind off any leftover heartache.

Still, Shannon made it clear that she “won’t be hanging out in the bars” in search of Mr. Right.
“I’m not going to go to a bar with a group of single girls and be that person and think I’m going to meet someone at a bar,” she said. “Because I don’t want to meet someone who hangs out in a bar.”
