The upcoming climate sticker protest caused total chaos in the city’s traffic on Friday morning.
You’re pasting again! Climate activists blocked the intersection of Wiener Getreidemarkt and Wienzeile from 8 am and caused traffic to collapse in Vienna-Mariahilf. Drivers therefore had to be patient: the entire Getreidemarkt and right-hand Wienzeile were at a standstill.

Solidarity with Lützerath
During the protest, Kleber held a yellow wooden cross. This should show solidarity with the German city of Lützerath, which is currently occupied by climate activists. The Viennese police were on the scene with a large presence and removed the activists from the street. Activists were removed from the street with solvent. However, it is still unclear when traffic will start flowing again. Some lanes are now passable again.
