But as time ticks by and Renner still lies critically injured on the hospital bed, rumors that he can’t walk gain traction, especially after a source close to the family revealed the actor may not be able to walk properly anymore. In an interview with Radar Online, the insider revealed:
“Jeremy has already had two delicate surgeries. But there are serious doubts he’ll ever be able to walk properly again – or ever. His loved ones fear the damage was severe enough to prevent him from moving as he used to – that is, if he doesn’t lose the leg entirely.”
Those reports have ignited a new fire that has fans furious about the condition of Renner’s legs and whether they may need to be amputated.

@ Jeremy Rennersome advice from my 30 years as an amputee after a horrific farm accident.
1) You survived, keep going
2) Leg badly damaged, keep moving forward.
3) If amputation is the future, go ahead.
4) fall down, fall forward.

Jeremy Renner’s reports are getting worse and worse. At this point I’m trying to figure out if there will be an amputation, if he has permanent damage to his legs and if he can’t walk. I just hope he makes a full recovery and the reports are just over zealous.

A second surgery for a traumatic injury is no good. Stabilizing the spine, surgery to stop the swelling of the brain, possibly amputation (or stabilizing a very, very bad fracture with all that funny metal stuff) seems the most likely. My heart goes out to Jeremy Renner and his family

News is constantly changing through communication channels, and until a new report can be confirmed directly by the Renner family, there’s no way of knowing whether or not he might need an amputation.
