British Columbia Angry Owl Attacks Skiers

British Columbia: ‘Angry’ Owl Attacks Skiers

An owl forced the closure of four cross-country ski trails near Kamloops, British Columbia, after attacking five people in one night this week.

This was indicated by the Overlander Ski Club in several updates on its Facebook page, which was still struggling with this problem on Thursday.

“There’s always an angry owl somewhere in the Little Joe/Ponderosa/Cartwheel/Hoss area. He approached and clawed 5 different people from the trail system in different locations last night,” read the Jan. 12 post.

Above all, the ski club wanted to warn skiers about these slopes, because a scratch from an owl can trigger tetanus.

A plan of action then had to be developed with police officers to try and stop the attacks of this bird, which may be protecting its nest.
