The Quetzalteca Ivana Batchelor was part of the Miss Universe pageant in which she took part along with the Presentations by more than 80 candidates. Although she wasn’t one of the 16 most beautifulstood out in their presentations.
This Saturday, January 14th Speaking on social media, Batchelor said she was ready for the Miss Universe graduation ceremony. He also thanked for the support he received during his trip to the world’s highest beauty pageant.
“The big day has come. Thank you to everyone who has been with me through this incredible experience, to GUATEMALA, to my family, friends, designers, people around the world and to the organization @missuniversegt for helping me with this dream that is coming true today”, said he wrote on social networks along with some pictures and a video.

Batchelor was supported by various people and groups in Guatemala who were attentive to each of her presentations and messages.
During the preparatory activity, which took place on Wednesday, January 11, she walked the runway in a bathing suit, formal dress and suit with elements of the country they represented.
At the beginning of the event, the candidates had to state their name and their country of origin. At that moment, Ivana introduced herself and called out the name of Guatemala. He also presented himself in this traditional way in the final.
In the preliminary round, Batchelor shone with an orange suit. Also, what caught the attention of his performance was the artwork covering his back, which he exhibited at the end of his performance.

On a cape she wore with her bathing suit, she commented that it was a hand-painted artwork as a creative rendering. The main piece is a woman in the ceremonial dress of her hometown of Quetzaltenango. “The woman is shown with a peaceful smile that represents the importance of positive thinking and sanity in our daily lives.” stated the text accompanying the photographs of the work.
The play also had other elements that called for children’s rights and said no to child labor.
The letter explained how Ivana Batchelor is trying to set up a non-profit organization to help families in need and offer scholarships to disadvantaged children and young people.

Designer César Portillo created the National Suit presented in the competition under the name Immortal Guatemala – Jaguar of the Americas, representing the country’s culture, fashion and roots.
The suit is a representation of iconic elements of the country, Mayan calendar, Pyramid of El Gran Jaguar, Jade. On the back is the face of the jaguar, universal symbol of Mayan culture.
Traveling through time and with the colonization of Spain, Solomonic columns adorning the outfit stand out, the national flower Monja Blanca stands out surrounded by leaves of the national tree La Ceiba. One of the most impressive of the gala. For its creation, a group of people took part in its creation.
The Quetzalteca woman also presented the designs of Edwin Francesco, who created a bicentenary cape with the name of the 22 departments of Guatemala and the suit called La fuerza de los volcanes, representing the passion of the Guatemalan woman.
