The Russian army continues its offensive in the Donetsk region

MOSCOW, January 15 (Prensa Latina) Russian assault and airborne units continued their advance north of the city of Artiomovsk and at the Sol train station in Donetsk, Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov reported today.

More than 80 Ukrainian soldiers, two tanks, three armored personnel carriers and three vehicles were killed in combat operations that continued throughout the day, the spokesman said.

In the Krasny Liman region, artillery fire and airstrikes hit units of the 66th and 92nd Mechanized Brigades and the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Konashenkov said.

In addition, the artillery and airborne troops repelled the attack of the assault groups of the 71st brigade of Ukrainian fighters, causing them more than 115 casualties and destroying three armored vehicles and three pickups, the military spokesman said.

Meanwhile, in the area south of Donetsk, artillery and rifle units along with Pacific Fleet marines attacked enemy positions, killing 50 Ukrainian soldiers and losing four military transports, she added.

At the same time, aircraft and artillery hit the 14th and 92nd mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk region, while units from the Western Military District killed up to 50 Ukrainian soldiers that day, the official said.

Konashenkov also reported that Russian troops launched missile attacks on Ukraine’s military management system and related power facilities, hitting all designated targets.

In addition, he added that operational and tactical aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces attacked an ammunition depot and a rocket launcher repair base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
