At a large conference at the Swiss Hotel, representatives of Alliance of Lima, universityCusco FC, Cienciano, Sport Boys, Deportivo Municipal, Melgar and Binacional announced that they will not compete at the start of the 1st division. This radical measure is in response to the precautionary measure taken by the Peruvian Football Federation, which prevents Gol Perú from televising matches of the aforementioned clubs.
“We have decided not to participate in the tournament until the FPF precaution is liftedsaid Sergio Ludeña, representative of Cienciano del Cusco.
Although Universitario, Mannucci, Municipal and Boys have a current contract with the Peru Football Consortium, the representatives of these clubs join the leaders of Alianza, the two teams from Cusco and Melgar, in order to keep the agreements of all teams.
Gol Peru points out that they pay more than other countries
Gol Peru journalists pointed out that the consortium is paying record sums in the region. “What they pay for Alianza Lima and the ‘U’ in broadcasting rights in Peru is much more than what Boca Juniors and River Plate charge in Argentina for the local tournament matches,” they commented.
