David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha each scored two goals and added an assist to their respective records. In his 1,000th game in the league, David Krejci had three assists while Brad Marchand hit the target and scored another goal.

The Bruins have now had an outstanding 21-1-3 home record since the start of the campaign.

Jeremy Swayman parried all 29 pucks aimed at him to continue his strong month in January. In three games, all won by his club, he gave up just three times on 97 shots, posting a .969 save percentage. It was also his sixth career shutout.

At the other end of the ice, Carter Hart had a much more complicated exit. He allowed four goals from 16 shots and was knocked out by Samuel Ersson. The latter fared slightly better, blocking 11 shots.

Tkachuk again

Matthew Tkachuk extended his streak to seven games with at least a point in the Florida Panthers’ 4-1 win over the Sabers in Buffalo.

Tkachuk was involved in the opening two goals of that clash, scored by Brandon Montour and Sam Bennett. He has five goals and 12 points in his last seven games and 55 points in 42 games for the entire season.

Carter Verhaeghe scored 20 goals in an empty goal for the second time while Anton Lundell was the other player to beat 30 save author Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

Sergei Bobrovsky did well with 28 saves.
