‘Happy Days’ star Henry Winkler opens up about reboot rumors and if he’d return

Henry Winkler revealed he has “no idea” if fans will ever get a Happy Days reboot in which he could reprise his role as “The Fonz.”

However, the 77-year-old actor revealed some potential requirements if the popular show were to make a comeback.

“I wouldn’t want to do it without Ron [Howard]without Don [Most]without anson [Williams] and without Marion {Ross],” Winkler told Fox News Digital at Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards.

He also said he doesn’t want to do the show without Garry Marshall, who created and produced Happy Days. Marshall died in 2016.

Winkler portrayed Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli for eleven seasons from 1974 to 1984 on the hit sitcom.

When asked if a Happy Days reunion was possible, Winkler admitted, “That’s a good question. I dont know. I have no idea.”

Winkler has worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest, including Jason Bateman on Arrested Development, Michael Keaton on Night Shift, and several films with Adam Sandler.

He revealed there are many other actors he would like to work with, most notably Jeff Bridges.

“Ozark’s Julia Garner,” he added. “Oh my gosh. And it goes on and on, I’m so excited to see everyone,” he said of attending the awards ceremony.

Winkler, who won the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role on HBO’s Barry, said he was just happy to “celebrate the tremendous talent in this space” before winning.

Regarding what he’s working on going forward, Winkler shared, “I have things on fire, but if they’re not real, I never talk about them. If they’re not like, ‘Oh, we’ll do it.’ But I’m very excited.”
