Cowboys score at Buccaneers: Live updates, game stats, highlights as Tom Brady, Tampa locked out in 1st half

The Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have half of their Super Wild Card Weekend matchup on the books. At the break, Dak Prescott and Co. have this duel firmly under control and lead by double digits.

Both attacks sluggishly went out of goal as each registered back-to-back three-and-outs early in the game. Dallas then came alive on his third possession of the night, rushing for 80 yards in seven games when Dak Prescott crossed paths with Dalton Schultz for the first touchdown of the game. That seemed to open the floodgates as Tampa Bay then started moving the ball and got to the Cowboys’ five-yard line. By this point, however, Tom Brady was facing some pressure, throwing an interception to Jayron Kearse in the end zone. That gave Dallas the ball back and they would make the Bucs pay with a 15-play touchdown drive. The Cowboys would score another touchdown on their total before halftime, but saw Brett Maher miss all three of his extra point attempts. Meanwhile, this marked the first time Tom Brady was disqualified in the first half of a playoff game since his postseason debut in the infamous “tuck rule” game against the Raiders in the 2001 divisional round.

Whoever ultimately wins this game will buy their ticket to Santa Clara for a matchup with the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round. So will the Cowboys persevere and keep their dreams of a title alive? Or does Brady have another second-half comeback up his sleeve? We’ll find out in a moment.
