American gospel singer from Miami encourages coup attempts in Brazil

American singer and influencer Jimmy Levy, 25, has encouraged Bolsonarian action against the election result. On Instagram, where he has 1.1 million followers, the musician reproduces false news that prisoners for the invasion and devastation were being held at the Three Powers headquarters in a “concentration camp” and that an elderly woman died on the spot which has already happened has been denial.

However, engagement is not just virtual.. In early December, Levy went to a meeting of Bolsonaristas in Miami and sang praises alongside journalist Allan dos Santos, who has been fleeing Brazil since October 2021.

Levy has already declared on the networks that Bolsonaro is “a man of God” and that Lula is the son of the devil. In the days leading up to the vandalism scenes in Brasília, he appeared in a video with gospel singers and other Brazilian influencers to call for a “mass gathering” on the Esplanada.

Best known for participating in the American Idol program in 2019, Levy has found success on Tik Tok and enjoys showing off awards he’s won for topping viewership over the past few years.

On Twitter he describes himself as “the most censored singer in the world”. With a speech that is based on the extreme right in the USA, he has already met former President Donald Trump, and often speaks out against vaccines and an alleged “sexualization of children”.

During a Bolsonarian performance in Miami on December 4, Levy sang a parody of his own song, which speaks of the existence of a war on religion and traditions. In the parodied version, he says that “a war against Brazil” is underway.

Levy is close to evangelicals in Brazil and the United States. In Orlando, Fla., he met gospel singer Bruna Karla, who has 5.8 million followers on Instagram, and wrote that “a spiritual awakening is happening in the music industry.”

A day earlier, Levy recorded a video of herself singing along with another evangelical artist, Michelle Nascimento. He is also close to gospel singer and influencer Fernanda Ôliver, who also convened the event on the 8th in the federal capital.

THE UOL News tried to contact Levy via messages on Instagram and Facebook since last Friday (13) but no reply. In his networks, the singer does not give a personal or business phone number.
