Missing mum Ana Walshe sold properties to reinvest ahead of mysterious disappearance

Ana Walshe, the Massachusetts real estate manager and mother of three who disappeared on New Year’s Day, had completed the sale of her Revere, MA apartment just days before she disappeared, friends said.

Ms Walshe’s friends and renters, Revere, Mike and Mandi Silva, told Fox News Digital the decision to sell the apartment they lived in caught their eye and Ms Walsh had become unusual towards them over time ” become intrusive”.

The couple, who rented from the Walshes for four years, said Ms Walsh had kept promising “a big surprise” in the new year and were trying to sell their home and a car for cash in late December 2022 before her disappearance.

This comes days after the arrest of her husband Brian Walshe, 47, who was accused of misleading a police inquiry and Googled “how to dispose of a 115lb woman’s body” before his wife disappeared.

A source told Fox News Digital, “Proceeds from the sale of the Revere condo went directly to the purchase of another investment property rather than Ana itself.”

SCHEDULE OF ANA WALSHES DISAPPEARANCE

November 2016: Brian Walshe was arrested in connection with an $80,000 art scam involving Andy Warhol paintings. He is ordered by a court to remain under house arrest pending sentencing. Walshe is yet to be convicted of fraud.

January 1, 2023: Ana Walshe is last seen around 1:30am after a New Year’s Eve party at the MA house by family friend Gem Mutlu.

Ana reportedly books a ride-along car that will take her to Logan International Airport at 4 a.m., but it’s unclear if she ever gets in a vehicle or catches a flight.

Ana was scheduled to fly to Washington DC on January 3 but reportedly said she had to fly earlier due to an emergency.

Her husband claims he went to Whole Foods and CVS on New Year’s Day, but there’s no surveillance or receipts to prove he went.

January 2: Walshe tells authorities he only left the family home in Cohasset to eat ice cream with his son.

He is caught on surveillance video buying $450 worth of cleaning supplies at Home Depot.

On January 1st and 2nd, Ana’s phone rings in the area of the house.

January 4: Ana’s employer reports her missing. The police initially did not consider the disappearance to be suspicious, and there is no evidence of third-party negligence.

January 5: Police say Walshe is cooperating in the investigation into his missing wife.

Cohasset Police Chief William Quigley admits they have “more questions than answers” at this point.

January 8: Walshe leaves the property in a red Volkswagen on Sunday. His three children are taken away in a separate vehicle.

Officers conducted a search warrant at her home and found blood and a broken knife in the basement. Officers load a Volvo SUV into the back of a truck while others search the grounds of their home.

Police arrest Walshe on suspicion of misleading an investigation, but charge him with nothing else.

January 9: Investigators find garbage bags with blood, a hatchet and a hacksaw at the Peabody garbage transfer station across Boston.

During the investigation, it emerged that Walshe had Googled “how to dispose of a 115-pound woman’s body.”

Brian Walshe is being brought before Quincy Circuit Court to face his arraignment. He is being held on $500,000 bail.

Walshe is pleading not guilty to misleading the investigation, but has yet to be charged with anything else related to his wife’s disappearance.

January 11: In an exclusive Chron, Ana Walshe’s mother says she cannot believe her son-in-law could be responsible for her daughter’s disappearance after he saved her life in 2021.

January 12: Police reveal that Ana Walshe called the police about her husband in 2014, saying “he’s going to kill me”.

The case was closed as Ana refused to cooperate with the police.

January 16: Fox News reports that shortly before her disappearance, Ms Walshe was making plans to sell her real estate assets and reinvest elsewhere as her behavior with friends became more erratic.

Sources say this was the purchase of another property. Friends previously claimed Ms Walshe was looking to sell her home and a car for cash in December.

Ana Walshe was last seen by family friend Gem Mutlu on New Year’s Eve at a party at her home in Cohasset.

Friends said there was “no evidence of anything suspicious” in the hours leading up to Ana’s disappearance.

Mutlu told WBZ-TV: “We were really looking forward to the new year. There was no hint of anything other than celebrating the new year, problems on hold.’

Ms Walshe’s mysterious disappearance was subsequently treated by police as a non-suspect with no evidence of foul play.

But last week’s revelations drew international attention to the story.

Hours before her disappearance, Ana Walshe reportedly wrote a “spooky note” on a champagne case, wishing her husband “courage, love and perseverance” in the New Year.

The scrawled note, first transcribed by the New York Post, read, “Wow! 2022…What a year! And yet we are still here and together!

“Let’s make 2023 the best yet! We are the authors of our lives…courage, love, perseverance, compassion and joy. With love, Ana.«

The other side of the champagne case read: “Gem Ana Brian 2023!”, referring to family friend Gem Mutlu, who was at the Walshe home hours before the disappearance on New Year’s Eve.

Mr Brian Walshe first reported that his wife took an Uber or Lyft to the airport to fly to Washington DC for work on January 1st.

Ms Walshe was reportedly planning to travel on January 3 but said an emergency had forced her to fly earlier.

Police inquiries have been unable to confirm that Ms Walshe ever took a taxi to the airport.

Husband Brian Walshe also told investigators that he had gone shopping for his mother on New Year’s Day, but CVS surveillance could not support the alibi.

Mr. Walshe also did not tell police that he spent approximately $450 in cash to purchase gloves, duct tape and cleaning supplies from a Home Depot in MA.

Mr Walshe was spotted wearing a black surgical mask and blue surgical gloves.

The trip reportedly took place during the time he was due to pick up his children from school, even though the school was closed on January 2.

Ana Walshe was only reported missing by her employer on January 4.

Police then found a hacksaw, hatchets, pieces of carpet, used cleaning supplies and bloody garbage bags in dumpsters at the Peabody transfer station across Boston.

Officials later announced that they had discovered blood in the basement of the Walshe family home in Cohasset, along with a damaged and bloodied knife.

Brian Walshe was arrested for misleading investigations.

The affidavit said: “The premeditated, premeditated and direct responses to questions regarding his whereabouts on the dates of Sunday January 1, 2023 and Monday January 2, 2023 were a clear attempt to mislead investigators and to delay.

“The fact that he was asked a specific question and gave an untrue answer that led investigators out of the area caused a significant delay in the search for missing person Ana Walshe.”

The judge posted bail of $500,000 in cash and the next hearing was set for February 9, 2023.

Mr Walshe pleaded not guilty on Monday 9 January.

Ana Walshe’s mother then said she couldn’t believe her son-in-law could be responsible for her daughter’s disappearance.

She said Ana, 39, visited her in Belgrade in November and December last year and she never said a bad word about her husband.

The sale of their own assets to buy others reported by Ms Walshe’s tenants is not in and of itself suspicious.

revealed Ms Walshe, a real estate manager for Tishman Speyer, was also the manager of a luxury Washington DC building where two fake Homeland Security agents lived.

Ms Walshe was looking to sell an apartment and car for cash in the closing days of 2022, promising a big surprise for the New Year, according to friends.

While tenants said Ana became unusually “pushy” when trying to sell their Revere, MA condo, others said Ana had shown no significant behavioral changes leading up to her disappearance.
