Aidan Hutchinson is the shocking new pick for the New York Jets No. 4 draft pick
The 2022 NFL Draft is less than 24 hours away. On the eve of the big night, we see a dramatic shift in predictions for what could happen at the end of Round 1.
Michigan edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson was the favorite to be selected as the overall winner by the Jacksonville Jaguars through most of the pre-draft process. However, its stock sees a bewildering drop in the late stages before the draft.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Hutchinson is now the odds favorite to be drafted by the New York Jets fourth overall pick (+350 as of 7:54pm ET – of course, odds are subject to change).

Hutchinson is closely followed by the following players as favorites at DraftKings to be selected fourth-pick by New York:
- State of Florida EDGE Jermaine Johnson II (+400)
- State of North Carolina OT Ikem Ekwonu (+400)
- Cincinnati CB Ahmad Gardner (+400)
- Oregon EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux (+450)
Hutchinson’s predicted slip can be attributed to a drastic shift in consensus expectations of who will make the top three.
Georgia edge rusher Travon Walker rises to prominence as a favorite to be picked first by Jacksonville.
A source close to the Jacksonville situation tells me Travon Walker will be the pick tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, Oregon edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux is starting to gain momentum as the preferred option for the Detroit Lions with the second pick overall.
Finally, there are plenty of rumors that the Houston Texans could pull a rabbit out of the hat and take LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. with the third overall.

All of this could result in Hutchinson’s stunning four-time development becoming available for the Jets.
