The Service de Police de la Ville de Quebec (SPVQ) is investigating the death of a 22-year-old woman who was found dead in a Quebec City apartment Monday night.
The police were called to an operation at around 10:30 p.m. in a building on rue Boisseau in the St-Sauveur district. When they got to the apartment, the police pronounced the woman dead.
According to the authorities, family members who had no news of the victim turned up at his accommodation.
Concerned, they knocked on the door and tried to enter, but to no avail. Then they called the police.
The family is said to have talked to the young woman during the day, a few hours before the lifeless body was found.
Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Unit and Mobile Command Post were dispatched to the scene to better understand the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to the authorities, the event is considered an unexplained death. An autopsy is being carried out on the body of the victim, whose identity is not yet known.
“We’re not necessarily talking about signs of violence at this time, but the elements I can’t specify to keep the investigation going remain really nebulous. That’s why we don’t rule out any thesis,” explains Marie-Pier Rivard, spokeswoman for the SPVQ.
Forensic investigators searched the garbage cans this morning. They even smeared food onto film for clues that might help the investigation.

They later went around the neighborhood for additional information.
Note that a security perimeter has been set up in the area. Rue Boisseau is closed at the intersection with Rue Saint-Sauveur.
