search for witnesses

“This is not a random attack. There is some connection linking the two individuals, but investigations are ongoing to determine which,” said David Poitras, police spokesman.

A scene was set up to allow investigators and forensic identification technicians to determine the circumstances of this event.

A hammer that appears to be bloodied is also prominently displayed in the security area, although authorities have refused to confirm at this time it was the murder weapon.

Investigators were scheduled to meet with the neighborhood on Friday morning to try to clarify the situation. Police are also asking anyone with information about this event to contact the command post set up on site.

A neighborhood that’s brewing

“It doesn’t really surprise me,” Alain Bernier, a neighbor, told the Journal. It’s a neighborhood known for a lot of brewing. »
The latter also mentions the residential building on the corner of Rue de la Reine and Rue Sagard, which has since been shut down but has burned down several times in recent years.
