A 43-year-old Alabama woman suspected of “pushing missing mother, 38, off a cliff” has posted a chilling picture

Chilling photos have emerged showing a woman accused of killing her 38-year-old mother by pushing her off a cliff, posing near the alleged murder scene in Alabama.

Loretta Kay Carr, 43, and her daughter Jessie Kelly, 21, were both charged with murder on Sunday, two years after Mary Elizabeth Isbell, 38, went missing.

Authorities searched far and wide for Isbell’s body, but as of this week have been unable to find any trace of the missing Hartselle, Alabama, mother.

Two days after Carr and her daughter were arrested, Isbell’s remains were found.

It now turns out that Carr shared a photo of herself at the crime scene in 2019, posing in Little River Canyon National Park in January 2019.

Carr has been held at the DeKalb County Jail in Fort Payne, Alabama, since Sunday.

She is charged with kidnapping and murder. Police say they pushed Isbell off a cliff – but Carr insists there is no evidence.

Carr’s attorneys argue that the state does not have enough evidence to warrant the incarceration or to refer the case to a grand jury, AL.com reported.

Her daughter was arrested in Pennsylvania and is being extradited to Alabama.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 21.

Isbell, 38, was leading a troubled life leading up to her disappearance. Her boyfriend was in prison and then in rehab, and she was moving from place to place. She was reported missing by her family in late 2021 after disappearing from her home in Hartselle, Alabama

The timeline of their disappearance remains unclear.

In the months leading up to her disappearance, she was suspected of stealing in DeKalb County.

The sheriff’s office said the theft involved an apartment where she lived with boyfriend James Allen Wright.

James Wright was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office in September 2021 and released to a Florida rehab facility in November 2021.

The sheriff’s office said that during his incarceration, Isbell was essentially homeless, moving between friends’ homes and “living where she could in DeKalb County.”

Her mother, Debbie Wood, told a local news station last year that Isbell got involved with a “nasty” crowd.

“I think she got involved with some wrong people,” she said.

She described Isbell’s relationship with Wright as “new but troubled” and said they were constantly at odds.

Carr is accused of kidnapping Isbell and throwing him off a cliff on October 18, 2021.

However, according to another police report, she visited her mother’s home in Hartselle on November 22, 2021.

She was spotted opposite her son’s school, also in Hartselle, the next day, November 23, 2021.

Isbell’s ex-husband Steven Isbell said on December 27, 2021 that she was missing.

Physical evidence was recovered from the home and entered into a national database, but no match was found at this time.

Relatives officially reported her missing to the Hartselle Police Department and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office in January 2022, and a missing persons poster was posted on her website on January 19, 2022.

The case remained silent until June 20 of this year, when DeKalb County investigators received information about Isbell’s disappearance and questioned two people in connection with her murder.

Carr was arrested on June 25th.

On June 28, officers discovered the remains. Forensics confirmed they belonged to Isbell on June 30 – her 39th birthday.

Her teenage son posted a tribute to his mother and shared a link to Carr’s arrest, saying, “I love you forever, like you forever, as long as I live you’ll be my mama.”
