A 63-year-old woman confessed to charging her entire family for Christmas dinner and explained her reason

In the United States, a mother of five and grandmother of six grandchildren earns $18 for each dish served the dinner of Christmas. This news has caused controversy in networks, but it explained the reasons that would support it.

According to statements made by Caroline Duddrige to The Sun newspaper, it is a tradition that has been carried out every year since 2016 and the family have until December 1st to deposit the money. He even added that if they don’t, everyone knows they’ll get the reminder call.

With 21 days to go before Christmas Eve, Caroline not only searches for the best dinner deals, but also for gifts for the 12 family members with the extra $1,000 she will receive as a widow’s pension.

Given the controversy that arose, the woman argued that the family had been in agreement for years. Also, “the older grandkids are happy to try to help me get some money back and I admire that,” he defended.

The American says there may be more cases like hers and that it’s still a good idea. “It makes budgetary sense and spreads the cost fairly among guests,” he told The Sun.

He concluded by commenting that this is “the best solution” to avoid getting into debt. “It is unfair to expect one person to pay for and prepare all the food (…). I know some moms feel guilty about not getting everything done, but I’m practical,” concluded Duddrige.
