A 71-year-old man was the victim of a murder after he was shot outside a restaurant in Montreal's Saint-Laurent neighborhood late Monday night.
Montreal police were alerted around 11:20 p.m. about a man shot in the parking lot of the Rosana restaurant on Marcel Laurin Boulevard, near Thimens Boulevard.
When police officers from the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) arrived at the scene, they found the unconscious victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body.
His death was confirmed by authorities on Tuesday morning.

Paramedics performed resuscitation maneuvers on the victim, who was quickly transported to a hospital.
Initial information indicates that the suspects fired shots at the victim, who was alone in his vehicle, according to an SPVM spokesman.
They then fled before the police arrived, said public relations officer Caroline Chèvrefils, specifying that there had been no arrests in the case.
The crime scene was protected by a security perimeter and awaited investigators and forensic identification technicians who were due to begin their work in the morning.
Witnesses were met by police who needed to see possible surveillance cameras while Boulevard Marcel-Laurin is closed from Rue Poirier.
Last month, almost to the day, the Rosana restaurant was attacked with a Molotov cocktail in a series of near-simultaneous attacks on four different establishments in less than two hours. The facility escaped with little damage.
