A big Christmas present for the Jets

A big Christmas present for the Jets?

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers could work behind center for the New York Jets for the Dec. 24 game against the Washington Commanders.

According to TMZ Sports, the Big Apple club's medical team expects the 40-year-old veteran to be ready to play at that time.

Rodgers was injured in his first game with the Jets on September 11th. He suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, which left him no choice but to undergo surgery.

The four-time NFL MVP returned to practice with his teammates in late November.

The injury Rodgers suffered typically takes nine months to heal. If he plays against the Commanders, he will have managed to return after just 104 days.

On Sunday, the Jets (5-8) returned to victory by defeating the Houston Texans 30-6. The New York team is not yet mathematically excluded from the playoff list. Before head coach Robert Saleh's team crosses swords with the Commanders, it will face the Dolphins next Sunday in Miami.
