A library in Ohio got quite a surprise when a patron came to the premises in 1931 to return a borrowed book.

The Licking County Library shared a video of the book in question, titled “Heart Throbs: the old scrap book.”
The video shows the book in very good condition with a sticker on the inside listing the library rules and return dates for the book.
This should have been returned on November 9, 1931.
“A patron ultimately returned it to us after finding it at his great-aunt’s house,” the library release said.
At that time, the late penalty was 2 cents per day, totaling nearly $700.
Fortunately, late fees have now been abolished.
