A Bugatti on a bike path makes Paris City Hall react

Photos of an overpowering Bugatti parked on a bike lane in front of the Eiffel Tower drew a reaction from elected officials on Paris’ social media on Wednesday.

“Closing a bike lane to advertise a vehicle that uses 41L/100 in the city with a disastrous carbon footprint… The cynicism of these pubs knows no bounds,” tweeted David Belliard, Mobility Assistant, specifying that no permit from the had been given to town hall.

The Bugatti Chiron Profilée was invited to a photo session by Sotheby’s ahead of its auction on Wednesday in Paris.

This unique version with less than 400 kilometers on the clock and an acceleration of 300 km/h in 12.4 seconds was estimated between 4.2 and 5.5 million euros.

The cycle path in question, located on the Bir Hakeim Bridge downstream of the Eiffel Tower, is used frequently for filming as well as photo shoots, whether licensed or not. Those showing cars do not fail to create discord on social networks.

“Bike lanes in Paris, it’s a dream, but it’s for bikes!” tweeted Emmanuel Grégoire, the first deputy mayor of Paris in charge of urban planning.
