Around forty German pensioners experienced great horror on board a bus when the driver left them in the middle of the motorway without food.
After reaching his driving hour quota, the bus driver “dropped off” the 42 passengers, who returned from vacation last Thursday, halfway to a motorway rest area.
The holidaymakers were trapped near Stuttgart and their broken down bus could not be taken to its destination as the driver sped away, France Live reported on Monday.
Under labor law, the abandoned driver had his rights because he did not want to exceed his nine hours of driving time at the risk of committing a violation.
The bus driver called one of his friends for a last-minute repair, but the company boss rejected this plan B, as France Live reports, citing the newspaper “Blick”.
Faced with his manager’s intransigence, the bus driver simply drove off with his friend, who picked him up in the car.
Tired of the fighting, the passengers had to call the police around 7 p.m. before being transported by car to Stuttgart train station to return home by train.
