A company was the target of an arsonist in the Saint-Laurent industrial district in Montreal on Monday night.
The Montreal Fire Department (SIM) requested police cooperation for a fire that broke out just after 1am affecting a shop on Montée de Liesse, near Boulevard de la Côte-Vertu.
When police arrived, SIM firefighters were already busy controlling the flames, causing minor damage to the facility.
According to initial police reports, the suspects smashed a window before setting fire to the inside of the store and fleeing immediately.

Accelerator traces were found at the fire site, said the spokeswoman for the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Jeanne Drouin.
The investigation has been transferred to the SPVM’s arson division, which must determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, it said.
According to the SPVM, no one was injured and no arrests were made in the case, adding that a security perimeter was set up to protect the crime scene for investigators.
