A Canadian player takes a 25-day “road trip” to the American West

When his vacation began after the Canadiens’ season ended, defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic had plenty of time to head far from Montreal, and he took the opportunity to spend nearly a month discovering the western United States aboard a vintage pickup truck in the spring.

In an interview with the Habs’ official website, the hockey player opened up about some of his adventures with his girlfriend. The couple began their 2,000-mile journey in San Francisco. After traveling down the California coast, he ended up in Arizona and then Nevada.

Places the duo visited include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Yosemite and Joshua Tree Parks, Malibu Beach and the Grand Canyon. In the last specific case, a nine-hour hike of more than 30 kilometers was on the agenda. In addition, the back of the CH was able to follow a special program that a fitness manager from the organization had put together in advance of the excursion along the Colorado River.

“The Pacific Coast Highway called to me, I guess. “I like driving and it didn’t bother me at all,” Kovacevic said in the interview, the outline of which was published on Wednesday, the day of his 26th birthday. We often hear about people living in a van and I wanted to know what that means. I was not deceived.

Back in Ontario, the former Winnipeg Jets can refine his preparations at training camp in September. In his first season with the Canadiens, he had 15 points in 77 games.
